Eezzy’s Lockdown Anthem ‘Tumbiza Sound’ to face ban for misleading public on COVID 19

Singer Eezzy's Lockdown Anthem

Ministry of Health has written to Uganda Communications Commission- UCC requesting them to ban Eric Opoka aka Eezzy’s lockdown anthem “Tumbiza sound” with claims that it carries messages Which misleads the public about Covid-19.

The song which includes lines like “mwe jemubela mu lockdown ffe tubela mu bend down” is said to have caused misinformation among different audiences and subsequently created complacency among the public hence the ministry calling for its banning.

“This is, therefore, to request you to ban the airing of the song on all media channels so the public is not misled,” read part of the statement by the Ministry of Health.

However Weeks ago the singer informed Boom Gossip that he recorded the song with intentions of informing the ministry that struggling musicians can still hold music concerts and shows while observing the standard operating procedures ( SOPs) adding that even if it is banned he will release more hit songs.

“Bwemuba mwagala sanitizer, tujja gula sanitizer, tuyingile me sanitiser mukibala tukube party” meaning that if you want us to buy sanitisers, we shall buy and enter bars with them and party,” says Ezzy in the song.
