Victory church Ndeeba leader pastor Dr Joseph Serwadda has said that Archbishop Cyprian Lwanga’s request on Tuesday of postponing elections was enterily his not for all religious leaders.
“The stement which was made by Archbishop Lwanga was entirely his as a chairperson of the council but for us in inter religious, on Tuesday of this week, we never said that elections should be postponed, ” Apostle Joseph Sserwadda stated.
He said this yesterday at his church.
Serwadda says that Lwanga should clearly state whether he consulted other archdioceses before he uttered words that have caused the whole council pain.
According to the apostle, it is too late to stop the elections since candidates have already invested in alot.
“Elections can’t be stopped when it’s just three weeks remaining, people have already invested in their money, people have been beaten while others died and injured,” he said.
On Wednesday 23rd, December 2020 the Uganda Joint Christian council ( UGCC) led by archibishop of Kampala, Dr Cyprian Kizito Lwanga asked government to postpone elections for three years. They asked Parliament to amend the constitution to allow President Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Museveni to lead for the three years of postponment something that annoyed many Ugandans from the opposition.
