Uganda Communications Commission has trashed claims that they directed the blockage of the internet in the country.
According to the commission’s spokes person Ibrahim Bosa, the network is slow due to traffic as many people worldwide are interested in Uganda’s elections.
“The slow internet could be a result of too much traffic online because many people around the world are interested in the elections,” He said.
Bosa has assured citizens that UCC does not intend to switch off internet during elections.
“There is no directive to switch off the internet during elections. As we speak, we are watching the Eco system,” Bosa revealed.
There have been many complaints today morning with many internet users saying that ICC has blocked Facebook App in the country as well as slowing down the internet.
