National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has touched hearts with an emotional birthday message to his daughter, Shalom Namagembe Nalunkuuma, expressing both the pride and fears that come with watching a child grow into adulthood.
In a heartfelt message shared on his social media platforms to celebrate Shalom’s birthday, Bobi Wine reflected on the paradox of parenthood, describing how his greatest hope for his children is also one of his greatest fears.
“I hope to see my children grow, spread their wings and fly freely into the world. At the same time, I fear for them as they fly into a world that can sometimes be so unkind,” Kyagulayi wrote.
Kyagulayi said his prayer for his daughter is to remain safe wherever life takes her and to find favor, love and happiness as she grows older.
“As you grow older, my girl, I pray that you will be safe wherever life takes you and that you will find favor, love and happiness,” Kyagulayi added.
Bobi Wine also reassured Shalom that regardless of how old she becomes, she will always remain his little girl.
“And no matter how big you grow and how many years pass, you will always be my little girl. Happy birthday, my dearest Shalom Namagembe Nalunkuuma,” he wrote.
