Big Eye Praises Gen Saleh Over New Copyright Law for Musicians
Ugandan musician Big Eye has commended Gen Salim Saleh for his contribution toward the recently achieved copyright law aimed at protecting musicians.
Speaking during an interview on Spark TV, Big Eye described the development as a breakthrough for the music industry, noting that artists have long struggled with piracy and lack of legal protection for their work.
He credited Gen Saleh for supporting initiatives that push for stronger copyright enforcement, saying the move will help musicians earn rightful income from their creativity. According to Big Eye, the new law offers hope for both upcoming and established artists who have often seen their content used without compensation.
The singer also urged fellow musicians to familiarize themselves with the provisions of the law so they can fully benefit from it. He emphasized the importance of unity within the industry to ensure the successful implementation of the new measures.
The introduction of stronger copyright protections is being welcomed by many stakeholders in Uganda’s creative sector, who believe it will promote fairness, boost confidence among artists, and encourage further growth in the industry.
