R&B superstar Chris Brown has publicly addressed an ongoing custody and child-support dispute with Diamond Brown, the mother of his four-year-old daughter Lovely Symphani Brown, stating that he has not seen the child in seven months.
In a series of Instagram Stories posted on October 5, 2026, Brown pushed back against recent court filings and online narratives. He wrote that he covers the majority of expenses related to Lovely and her mother, including housing, two vehicles, schooling, medical costs, and $10,000 per month in additional support.
“NOT ENTERTAINING IGNORANCE! Not allowing me to have time with my child so you can run with a false narrative to the courts is disgusting,” Brown stated. “There is no 50/50 co parenting. I LITERALLY PAY FOR EVERYTHING, her cars(2), her HOUSE, SCHOOLING, MEDICAL, and 10K a month.”
He continued: “I HAVENT SEEN MY DAUGHTER IN 7 months I DONT CARE ABOUT This BITTER BABYMOMMA or who she date. I CARE ABOUT MY CHILD. I wanna know what she tells LOVELY when she asks about her dad.”
Brown emphasized that his priority is maintaining a relationship with his daughter and said he is prepared to present documentation of his financial contributions if necessary.
The public comments come as the former couple remains locked in family court proceedings in Los Angeles. According to reports of court documents, Diamond Brown has sought primary legal and physical custody of Lovely along with a substantial increase in child support.
Filings have referenced a proposed monthly budget in the range of $45,000 to cover housing, childcare, education, extracurricular activities, and other expenses. She has also raised allegations regarding Brown’s conduct toward her and individuals she has dated, claims that Brown’s representatives have denied.
Diamond responded to Brown’s Instagram posts on social media. She stated that she invited him to a New York Fashion Week event in which Lovely participated and that he did not reply. She acknowledged that Brown is blocked from contacting her directly but argued that other channels exist if he wants to arrange time with their daughter.
Diamond maintained that providing financial support does not equate to equal parenting responsibilities and stressed the importance of a father’s presence.
The dispute has drawn reactions from the mothers of Brown’s other children. Several of them publicly defended the singer, describing him as an involved and consistent father who takes care of all of his children. One of the co-parents highlighted that Brown ensures equal treatment and support across his family.
Lovely was born in January 2022.
Brown has previously acknowledged paternity. The current legal case began earlier in 2026 when Diamond filed seeking formal custody arrangements and support orders. Brown has countered by requesting joint legal and physical custody.
As of October 6, 2026, the matter remains unresolved in court. Both sides continue to present their positions through legal filings and public statements. Family court cases involving high-profile figures often involve competing narratives, and final determinations will rest with the judge based on evidence presented.
Brown, a multi-platinum recording artist with a long career of chart-topping hits, has spoken in the past about the importance of fatherhood. The latest exchange underscores the challenges that can arise in co-parenting relationships under public scrutiny
