Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s son, Sgt. Ruhamya Kainerugaba, has graduated from the Uganda Military Academy in Kabamba during a ceremony marking the commissioning of officer cadets and the graduation of Bachelor of Defence Studies students.
Ruhamya graduated during the Commissioning of Officer Cadets (Professional Intake 09/2026) and the graduation of Bachelor of Defence Studies (BDS) students for the 05/23-26 intake.
The ceremony, held at the military training institution in Kabamba, marked an important milestone for the graduating officers and students who have undergone military training and academic instruction in defence studies.
Ruhamya is the son of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, who is a prominent figure in the country’s military establishment.
The graduation brought together officer cadets and Bachelor of Defence Studies students who completed their respective training and academic programmes at the academy.
The commissioning of officer cadets marks a significant stage in military training, preparing graduates for responsibilities within the armed forces, while the Bachelor of Defence Studies programme provides academic grounding in defence and security-related fields.
The graduation adds to the professional and academic milestones of the graduates as they prepare for their next responsibilities in the military and defence sector.
