Bebe Cool Claims UNMF Is Privately Owned by Eddy Kenzo and Sheebah

Veteran Ugandan musician Bebe Cool has stirred fresh debate in the music industry after claiming that the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) is privately owned by fellow artists Eddy Kenzo and Sheebah Karungi.

According to Bebe Cool, the federation was registered as an individual entity rather than a collective body representing all musicians, implying that it is controlled and operated by the two artists.

He argued that this setup raises concerns about transparency and inclusivity within the organization, which many had believed was established to unite and advocate for the interests of all Ugandan musicians.

Bebe Cool’s remarks have sparked mixed reactions within the entertainment industry, with some artists questioning the structure and ownership of the UNMF, while others have defended the initiative, citing the efforts made by its founders to organize the music fraternity.

The Uganda National Musicians Federation was formed with the aim of bringing together artists under one umbrella to address challenges such as copyright protection, welfare, and industry regulation.

However, the latest claims have reignited discussions about governance, accountability, and the true representation of musicians within the federation.

Neither Eddy Kenzo nor Sheebah Karungi had issued an official response to the allegations at the time of reporting, leaving the debate ongoing among fans and stakeholders in Uganda’s music scene.
