Ugandan socialite and businesswoman Zari Hassan has expressed scepticism over the recently released DNA results involving the alleged children of late Kadongo Kamu legend Paul Kafeero, calling for a fresh round of testing.
The government forensic findings established that only four out of the 25 claimants are biological children of the late singer. The confirmed children are Benedicto Kafeero, Simon Peter Kafeero, Thomas Kafeero, and Elizabeth Nagawa.
However, Zari says she is not convinced by the outcome and believes another DNA exercise should be conducted to eliminate any lingering doubts.
“I don’t believe those results. There should be another DNA test so that everyone is fully satisfied,” she reportedly said. Her comments have added a new twist to a matter that many believed had finally been settled after years of speculation, family disagreements, and competing claims over Kafeero’s lineage.
The DNA tests were carried out by government forensic experts in a bid to conclusively determine the biological heirs of the celebrated musician, whose legacy continues to influence generations of Kadongo Kamu lovers across Uganda.
Zari’s remarks have since sparked mixed reactions on social media. While some users agree that a second test could help remove any remaining uncertainty, others argue that scientific findings released by accredited government laboratories should be respected and accepted.
The controversy surrounding Paul Kafeero’s children has persisted for years, with questions over inheritance, family recognition, and rights to the late singer’s estate often taking center stage.
As debate over the results continues, it remains unclear whether the concerned family members or authorities will entertain calls for additional testing.
Paul Kafeero, who died in 2007, remains one of Uganda’s most celebrated musical icons, with his timeless songs continuing to resonate with fans nearly two decades after his passing.
