Musician Spice Diana, real names Diana Namukwaya has shared the unexpected backstory of one of her hit songs, “Siri Regular,” saying that she didn’t want to record or release the song at first.
The song-bird claims that when she initially heard the song, she wasn’t impressed. She claims that at the time, the sound was too local for her taste in music, which made her doubt that it would be a hit song.
“I heard the song and it sounded too local,” Spice Diana explained while sharing the story in an interview with a youtuber.
Her reactions, did not stop her management team from pushing for the song to be released. Spice Diana says her manager Roger strongly believed in the song and insisted that the song had to come out despite her reservations.
The singer admits that she disagreed with her manager and was initially reluctant to embrace the track. At the time, Spice Diana apparently had a different vision of the kind of music she wanted to release, making it difficult for her to immediately connect with “Siri.” What sounded too local to her eventually became a song that resonated with audiences.
