Media personality Simon Kaggwa Njala has raised questions about the circumstances surrounding the reported death of Ivan Ssemwanga, casting doubt on claims that the South African-based Ugandan businessman died at Steve Biko Hospital.
In a post circulating on social media, Njala said he contacted the hospital to establish the truth behind the claims, only to receive information that reportedly contradicted the account of Ssemwanga’s admission.
“This is one of the mysterious deaths to date,” Njala wrote, expressing curiosity about the circumstances surrounding the businessman’s death.
He further claimed that his inquiries at Steve Biko Hospital did not establish that Ssemwanga had been admitted there.
“When I called Steve Biko Hospital, they confirmed that there was never any patient called Ssemwanga admitted to their hospital. Not even by the other names as claimed,” he stated.
Njala’s remarks have raised questions about the information surrounding the businessman’s final days, with his comments likely to spark renewed public discussion about the circumstances of his death.
However, the claims remain unverified, and the hospital’s alleged response has not been independently confirmed. Further clarification from the hospital, Ssemwanga’s family or other relevant authorities would be necessary to establish the facts.
