Zari Hassan Reveals Marriott Hotel Sponsored Her 46th Birthday Party in Kampala

Socialite and entrepreneur Zari Hassan, popularly known as the Boss Lady, has revealed that Marriott Hotel sponsored her 46th birthday celebration in Kampala, covering all expenses, including decorations, food, drinks and other arrangements.

Zari made the revelation during a television interview, where she expressed gratitude to the hotel’s management for supporting the celebration, adding that she did not spend any of her own money on the event.

The birthday party attracted considerable attention on social media, with discussions extending beyond the celebrations to reports that some guests were removed by security for violating the event’s dress code.

The incident sparked speculation that Ugandan musician Jose Chameleone was among those targeted during the security enforcement. However, Zari dismissed the claims, clarifying that the individuals removed were people who had not been invited to the party.

Her remarks sought to clear the air surrounding the incident, which had generated online debate about the event’s guest list and security arrangements.

Beyond the controversy, the sponsorship revelation has highlighted the growing relationship between high-profile personalities and hospitality brands, which can use celebrity events to promote their services and attract potential customers.

For Marriott Hotel, hosting Zari’s birthday celebration offered an opportunity to associate its brand with a prominent social figure whose celebrations often attract public and online attention.

Zari, who has built a public profile around entertainment, business and lifestyle, remains a familiar name in East Africa’s celebrity circles, making her events a subject of interest among fans and social media users.

The revelation that the hotel covered the entire bill has also fuelled conversations about celebrity partnerships, where brands provide services or financial support in exchange for publicity and visibility.

While the celebration was marked by excitement and controversy, Zari’s account has placed the spotlight on the business side of celebrity parties, where what appears to be a lavish personal occasion can also serve as a marketing opportunity for the sponsoring brand.
